Policed
Mat had been alive for a little while - The sound of the battle off in the distance had the little one concerned, but there was no issue where he was right now. Gunfire seemed to be too far away to worry about, so the little one simply made his way through the deserted streets on his own... Then, as if from nowhere, the little one was thrown to his back as the underside of some unknown person's shoe simply appeared over his position. There was enough space between the girl's heel and the ground for him to survive the impact, but it was close.
"Nice try, Love!" The woman shouted, before seemingly disappearing into nothingness to appear down the road ahead.
A small explosion went off nearby. The shooter was trying to predict where the woman was about to 'blink' to, but they had a hard time keeping up with her trajectory. Whoever it was that was pursuing the girl was hidden in shadow, Mathew couldn't tell where they were - just that they were nearby. His little heart pounded in his chest as he lay on the ground and the wind blew over his tiny body sending chills up his spine. He had no idea where he was - he hadn't been in this area before in any of his previous lifetimes and the people that he did wind up seeing, even if it was just for a second, were people he did not recognize at all.
Then, she came running by...
Hana made her way through the narrow corridor, her feet pounding on the cobblestone pathway as she ran. She didn't notice the little speck, but she did notice her target off in the distance. She brought her gun to bear, sending out a stream of pistol fire toward the foe that was giving the first woman chase. Whoever the individual was that was attacking the first girl, he had a wicked laugh as he ran along, disappearing for a few seconds around the corner. Hana, clad in a cute police uniform, did not give up the chase... Not even when she heard the sound of a machine revving up.
From around the corner that the man disappeared came a tire - a tire from hell. It had spikes, it looked amazingly vicious... However, Hana simply ran directly at the thing! And, in the process, she was closing the gap between her and the little insect on the floor.
Once again, life slowed down just before impact. Mathew was quaking with pleasure as he saw Hana's shoe come over him, every bit of dirt and debris she carried with her was plain to see. The tiny creature was helpless as he watched the smooth sole come down upon his frail little form. It touched his face first, causing a shockwave of pain that was far more massive than it should have been for just a simple touch. His head was slowly forced to the side until his chest pressed against the hard sole of her shoe. Eventually, his lungs emptied of air. Everything would have been over in a flash a few lives ago - but with his newfound ability to speed up his perception of the world around him, everything was so surreal. Every sensation was felt, every bit of pleasure was had, and every ounce of pain in his body ripped through him as he was slowly crushed to death.
To Hana, it was a simple footstep. To Mathew, it took so very long.
He felt his chest burst beneath her as he was compressed into nothing. That was the step, the moment Mathew's tiny body was flattened and she had shifted her weight onto him, she crouched down slightly and leapt over the Rip-Tire. As she did so, she shot downward at the enemy's attack. Every bullet was a hit, every round touched their mark the way she had intended - and luckily, she did enough damage. The tire exploded, leaving her safe and sound to land. However, she did not land on the ground!
While in transit, she called forth her armored Mech suit. It landed in time for her to fall perfectly into the pilot's seat, leaving Mathew's tiny body - which was still alive and sentient - stuck to her shoe without a final crushing moment. The suit was loud and powerful, and the moment the man she was fighting against showed his face, she sent a barrage of fusion rounds at him! He turned back to cover, just in time for the woman he was chasing before to show up out of nowhere.
"No hard feelings!" She quipped, patting him on the shoulder before blinking off around a corner!
Hana laughed from the cockpit as she saw the explosion from afar. She had no idea whether or not it actually was successful in killing her target though, so she was still on edge! She glanced for just a second down to a screen in her cockpit and smiled a big, beautiful smile to her viewers. 'D.Va - 1.2M Viewers' it read in the corner, which was enough to keep her going! She was streaming her fight, and this wasn't the only operation that she had streamed in the past. D.Va was an incredibly popular gamer before she began her career piloting, and she had a huge fanbase!
Then, she saw something that confirmed her suspicions! A green orb slid by, bouncing from the wall and up away from her.
"I have repaired the damage, Now let us go!" A feminine voice could be heard around the corner.
"Thanks lady!" The chaotic man said as they ran out into the fray!
D.Va only had a quick second to raise her defensive matrix before the woman appeared nearby and released a blast of green and dark purple energy toward her. She let out a meek little squeak in shock, digging in to absorb the massive blow that she was given. It wasn't holding out though, as the explosive man appeared from behind the corner to help his friend deliver blow after blow with his launcher. The alarms inside of her suit began to sing as systems began to fry!
"Healing string, Engaged!" She heard from behind, just as the shield wall failed!
It was hardly enough to keep her suit in one piece, but it would have to do! She activated the Mech's forward boosters and pushed herself directly into the enemy forces. She didn't hit any, but that wasn't her goal... Not exactly. It was a short-lived run for this suit in particular, but the suit itself was not as important as she was! Quickly, she leapt out of the vehicle into the air as it began to self-destruct. While still in the air, she smiled a bright smile to her foe - gave them a cute little wink, and began to fire in their general direction with her pistol. The blast wasn't enough to kill her two enemies, but it was enough to knock them back! A golden string of healing energy encompassed Hana's body as she went to land... It inadvertently healed Mathew as well! Though he was still stuck to the sole of her foot, he was back to his full capacity. That was, until her foot touched the ground again.
This time it was his skull first, in slow motion. He felt the back of his head impact the ground, collapsing his skull like a tiny grape. His little eyes burst from his head to mix in with the blue hair as the rest of his body flattened out in her step. Twice in this lifetime, twice he was crushed to death underfoot... And both times, it was unknown to her.
Mercy stood high above the battlefield, gazing down upon Hana - who had taken cover behind a nearby wall. Her chest heaved in and outward as she stood upon the unfortunate little speck still smashed into the sole of her dust-covered shoe. His soul still lingered there, even if she had smashed most of his tiny body into the dust...
Laughter could be heard once more, though this time it was not alone... As the smoke cleared, the sound of heavy footsteps could be heard from around the corner. Chaotic laughter, mixed with that of another. Low, deep, foreboding... Punctuated with rough coughs and the sound of heavy footsteps.
"No match for us, eh?" A cute voice said from behind, as the woman from before appeared from seemingly nowhere behind Mercy. "No worries!"
From the shadows emerged the source of the laughter... An enormous man hidden behind a mask, standing in the street with a massive shotgun in hand. He threw a chain directly toward Mercy, though it missed by a few centimeters and landed directly on Tracer. She let out a little yelp as she was drawn directly into the frey and a hail of gunfire and green energy blast ensued. She would have been dead, that was if she did not have the ability to reverse her position in time. She appeared back at Mercy's side in a flash, gasping as both Moira and Junkrat appeared from around the corner to take up positions for an attack.
Just in time for Hana's suit to return...
Just in time for Mathew's soul to depart...
