"You're sick..." Kurisu said with disdain in her voice as she looked back to the scientist who stood before her.
"No..." He replied with fire in his eyes, "I am Hououin Kyouma!"
Later
It was one of the strangest interactions she had been involved with in her life. Kurisu had a lecture later that day she was planning to lead and this didn't really help her mental state before going up on the stage. She wasn't sure if she should be completely and utterly angry at the man, or fearful of what he might be capable of. She was, after all, in a city that was foreign to her outside of her home country. She had to be as vigilant as possible...
Was he threatening her life? Or was he trying to help her? Either path it was disturbing, so she simply chose to be angry at him. A few hours later and the red-headed scientist was on her way to the lecture hall to give her speech.
"Ughn..." Mathew whimpered from the ground, his body tingling from his previous death's experience.
Unable to move much, the little blue-haired creature simply gazed up to the enormous buildings on all sides of him. Where was he? The sound of people moving about was in his ears but he didn't see anything around him... Not until someone nearly crushed him to death. A businessmen on his way to a meeting was not paying any attention, his foot landed only a few inches away from Mathew's little body sending a gust of wind over his tiny form. Then, a Japanese woman nearly steamrolled the little creature into the pavement beneath her high-heel in passing. The overly loud 'clack' of her heel hitting the pavement sent a shock through Mat's tiny system, further paralyzing the little creature.
The people seemed to come from nowhere! A second ago not a soul was in sight, but now it was like he was on the busy sidewalk of New Work! On top of that, not a single soul around him spoke a word of English. Where was he?
Makise was upset.. Certainly too upset to check where she was stepping for the possibility of a bug. She didn't care if she stepped on an insect anyway - it was the middle of Tokyo, nobody was going to mourn a dead roach. Thoughts about the upcoming lecture were clouded by the assault that had taken place earlier that day. It was so strange and awkward the way that 'Hououin Kyouma' had interacted with her. He seemed like a pure lunatic...
Time slowed once again.
He didn't know how it happened, but it did. Just as Makise's foot came over the little one's body it was like the world stood still. Every bit of dust and dirt that had accumulated on the sole of her shoe was visible as she made her way forward. He could make out every imperfection beneath her, every crack in the sole of her shoe... Everything. It was like the ultimate high as pleasure washed over his tiny form.
Slowly... Ever so slowly her foot descended. The rubberized sole touched the tip of his toes first. He could do nothing but wait as he felt them fold over beneath the pressure. The pain was so immense as the quick motion destroyed both of his little feet. Then, the rubber came to rest on the tip of his nose. It was pleasant at first, but that good sensation quickly changed to horrendous pain as the rubber smashed down on his face and nose. His skull didn't last at all as it deformed before bursting like a tiny grape.
Now without vision, he could feel her sole touch his chest. The same order of events... A slow press until the lungs were violently rid of all oxygen before his rib-cage collapsed in a painful symphony of breaking bones and bursting organs...
All in a split second.
She didn't even break her stride as she stepped down on the tiny bug. To her, there was nothing. No resistance, no pop... He was far too small to even pick up in her mind as she stormed off to the lecture hall. Mathew's tiny body stuck to the bottom of her shoe as she made her way down the sidewalk, then into the lobby of the building where her lecture would be hosted.
Later
'Great...' She thought as she made her way up to the podium.
He was there... The man from before, the lunatic in a lab-coat and his friend...
"First off, thank's for coming today. I appreciate it..." She began, standing up at the podium.
The tiny man she had stepped on in passing was still with her. He was flattened beyond recognition, but somehow his spirit was forced to linger just a little longer beneath the girl's shoe. He looked to be more of a smear of gum with blue fuzz than a human being. All of the blood had been walked off and most of his organs were gone, but he was there... Tortured, a soul trapped in a dead and disfigured corpse.
"Um..." She said nervously, "It's only fair to warn you, I'm really not all that accustom to speaking publicly. So you'll have to strap in and bear with me a little bit..."
She was met with applause, just as Mathew's tiny spirit was finally allowed to depart his little flattened body.... She never knew...
