He came. A glowing, blue squirt of liquid pushed up into the webbing of her toes. It wasn't much, and would easily be washed away with the other dirt and grime, but it was enough to send a soothing, positive pulse of energy from her foot, up her spine, and throughout her body. Like a drug, sore muscles would stop aching almost immediately, and a boost of positive energy would run through her.
"Alright," Josh said as he began to work on the computer, clicking through and bringing up the guests registry page.
He stuck the card into a small machine next to the monitor, glancing over to the clock. 10:58...
He hesitated for a second, thinking about offering her some more bullshit to push her past checkout time, but the Rat didn't want to have to deal with an irate customer at the moment. He weighed the options, and decided to press the button just as the clock flipped over to 10:59. As the rat rang her out, something strange happened. She felt something hit the bottom of her toes, something warm. But at that same moment... the aches and pains that had been lingering since last night's matches were just gone.
What's more, she didn't quite feel as much like death. Maybe it was the fact that she was finally leaving this shithole motel, this city, and this state, but compared to just a few moments ago in her motel room, she almost felt downright perky.
Hell, she even flashed a sharp smile at the rat bastard behind the desk.
