This was a good world to inhabit it seemed...
Eva made her way down the sidewalk with her silken tail swaying back and forth behind her as she walked. It was a hot and sunny day in Southern California, she wasn't used to the weather yet but she was sure that would come with time. Living in this area wasn't exactly easy, though having some friends in pretty good positions helped her a lot. Savannah, a local friend and someone she's known for quite some time, had been generous enough to allow her to rent a house she owned that was up atop one of the nearby miniature mountains. It was ridiculously fancy for what she normally could afford, but her friend wanted her to be in the area so badly that she was only renting it out for the exact cost it took for her and her family to maintain the place at no profit. While still expensive, it meant she could live in an epic place on a shoestring budget.
'You wanna hang out tomorrow?' Morgan, another of her friends, texted her.
'Sure... What did u have in mind?' Eva sent back while walking, her thumbs tapping on the screen.
'Dunno, getting with Savannah to see what she has planned. Glad ur in town love!' Morgan replied, causing Eva to smile softly.
She had been ignoring a strange fold in her right sock for a while now. It was a bit annoying, but she figured it would go away eventually, and it might as well have disappeared as far as she was concerned. She clutched her water-bottle in her left hand, uncapping it with the right to take a quick sip of the liquid inside. She had no idea what was really happening though - A tiny blue-haired being clung tightly to the underside of her adorable dirty paw-socks beneath her toes. His face pressed right into the underside of a pink 'toe-bean' circle. He had been trying desperately to stay in the 'safe zone' during her walk, but the heat and sweat drenching his body made it hard for him to focus. His grip was slipping, his body aching, and every step she took slammed him onto the ground. Again and again the little one fell, his heart throbbing in his chest like a little fluttering hummingbird. It wouldn't be long before he....
*Slipped*
His grip faltered in the midst of her stride. The sweat made a perfect lubricant to make his descent into the dangerous areas of her shoe nearly impossible to stop. It happened in a mere second, the time it took for Eva's foot to rise and fall. The little one gasped, taking a final breath of the thick scent inside of his steaming prison before the life was crushed from his little body. He didn't get to finish even that, the moment his lungs were full the pressure immediately rolled onto him. This caused his body to spew out the air in a cute yet passive 'squeak'. His lungs emptied, his bones shattered and his little form popped against the adorable cat-like sock she wore that particular day. However...
She heard him...
The Eliore and Elomimi have terrible eyesight, but amazing hearing. She heard the crunch, the little squeak, everything... However, she didn't necessarily feel him or understand anything about what was going on. Eva stopped in her tracks, shifting her weight onto the little one beneath her foot even more in the process, and looked around. It sounded almost like a dog had been kicked, or something had happened to an animal nearby. Her heel lifted a bit as she turned, scanning her surroundings... Unwittingly smashing Mathew's little body more and more into the insole of her shoe.
"Hmph..." She grunted a bit, before stepping off to the shade of a nearby tree to sit down.
Casually, she pulled her shoes off her feet and set them aside to let them air out a bit. Such a hot day, such sore little paws of hers... She leaned back, setting her bottle down next to her and holding her phone with her right hand now. She didn't even think to check the bottom of her foot... Why would she? There was no reason to even think that there was a living being in there.
'Let me know when u find out and what time, k? I'm trying to save so plz find something cheap to do. Maybe we can hang out at yur place?' Eva texted back, unaware of the little blue-haired guy stuck to the bottom of her foot...
Moments later
Mathew whimpered, laying on the ground in the middle of Eva's home. He didn't recognize the place he had come back to, but he did know something... He was smaller than before, and he couldn't move... He lay there, alone, waiting for whoever owned the home to return....
